River View Local Schools had a productive March Professional Development Day filled with meaningful learning for our staff. One of the hands-on sessions was a Medical Bootcamp led by our district nurse Kenzie Fitch and our RVHS Health Teacher, Melanie Kunze. Staff reviewed important safety procedures including CPR, AED use, new choking guidelines, EpiPen use, Narcan training, and how to respond to seizures, fainting, and diabetes concerns. Staff also practiced CPR compressions and learned where medical supplies and Orange Trauma Bags are located in our buildings. We appreciate the time and expertise shared to help ensure our staff feel confident and prepared to respond in emergency situations. Keeping our students safe is always a top priority at River View! 🐻
