District Profile

The River View Local School District consists of three (3) buildings with one (1) PK-2nd grade building, one (1) 3-6 building, and one (1) high school, 7-12th grade, building.  Total enrollment is approximately 1718. 

                                                            

The district is located in Coshocton County which has an approximate population of 36,900 and covers 564 square miles.  The River View district covers 376 square miles of the county which includes 16 townships.

 

Our community is a rural area that has a diversified industrial base with a large emphasis on agriculture.

 

The district is accredited by the State of Ohio and is a member of the Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center in Zanesville, Ohio.

 

River View’s school colors are old gold and black and the mascot is the black bear.  Our athletic teams compete in the Muskingum Valley League.

 

Along with our three (3) buildings, our district is affiliated with the Coshocton County Career Center which offers 12 Career-Tech Programs for junior and senior students.

 

We take pride in the high academic standards and achievements within our district.  Promoting up to date technology, gifted programming, visual and performing arts, college credit plus, general course studies, and more.

 

Staff, students, and the Black Bear community are proud to support the academics, extracurricular activities, athletic and music boosters, PTO organizations and the business community.
